Find peace and quiet
Our park is located in the middle of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. From our holiday park, you can walk straight into the forests and find yourself in an oasis of peace. Directly adjacent to the park, at the back exits, moorland "the Krakelingput" can be found. Sheep regularly graze this area and maintain the heath. In the nearby area, you can enjoy hiking or cycling to the Lage Vuursche, for example. This is an area full of varied nature from deciduous forest, to heathland to wetlands. Henschotermeer
Just a few kilometres from the park lies Henschotenmeer. This lake is a unique recreational area in the middle of the forests of Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Whether you just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, build your own sandcastle on the long sandy beach, go swimming or perhaps take a brisk walk around the lake... there really is something for everyone here!
MTB routes
A challenging MTB route starts right behind the park. So bring your mountain bike or hire one at reception. The various routes merge into each other, so you can determine the length of the route yourself. Five minutes away, there is also a special MTB route for children, which starts at the Beauforthuis and is approximately 4.5 km long. Great fun for children aged 6 and above.
Utrecht: the cosiest city centre in the Netherlands!
Utrecht is one of the most pleasant cities in the Netherlands and feels like a large village. The city is known for icons such as the Dom Tower and the Oudegracht, which together form a characteristic and atmospheric cityscape. Utrecht is ideal for shopping, walking, experiencing culture and enjoying culinary delights. Along the Oudegracht, you will find mainly clothing shops, while towards the Smeebrug you will discover many small, special shops, such as antique and second-hand shops. After shopping, there are plenty of terraces to relax on.
An absolute highlight is the Dom Tower. After climbing 465 steps, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the city. Beneath the Dom Tower is DOMunder, an interactive museum about the history of Dom Square. Utrecht also has a wide range of museums, including the Railway Museum, the Miffy Museum, the Speelklok Museum and the Rietveld Schröder House, offering plenty to discover for young and old alike.

Museums & attractions
In the vicinity of our park, there is a great range of fun activities and museums. Less than 25 minutes away by bike, you can find the National Military Museum. This is an interactive museum for all ages where military equipment of the Dutch Armed Forces is on display. The museum is located at the former Soesterberg airbase, which until recently was used as a military site. You can even drive a tank there!
At zoo Ouwehandsdierenpark Rhenen, you are in the right place if you like wild animals! The zoo became famous because of the Chinese giant pandas Wu Wen & Xing Ya who have a beautiful enclosure.
You can reach the Pyramid of Austerlitz after only 15 minutes by bike. Its location is truly stunning. Be sure to climb to the top of the Pyramid as the view of the area is magnificent. The short climb is definitely worthwhile. There is so much to do around the Pyramid.

At the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, often hidden between the forests, there are a number of magnificent castles and country estates that enjoy national acclaim. The opulent showpieces of power and splendour are located in the most beautiful places in the landscape. At these historic locations, you will experience the authentic Dutch countryside. Many of these sites are open to the public, meaning you can stroll around the gardens and often find a museum or catering establishment. The venues are all within short travelling distance of each other, ideal for visiting by bike. Some of the most beautiful locations include Zeist castle (garden and catering), Amerongen castle (museum, garden and catering), Kerckebosch castle (catering), Parc Broekhuizen (catering), de Paltz estate (catering and gallery), Huis Doorn (museum).
